Almost universally, the language used in the stories of Sudden Fiction is florid and evocative. This may seem an obvious statement, but the brevity of the stories necessitates it. Because the stories are all six pages or shorter, they generally deal with an incident lasting no longer than a couple of hours. The author's intent in such cases becomes to show how such a brief incident can encompass a more universal truth.
