Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

Dr. Jekyll releases his evil side with the potion he drinks. Yet Jekyll is a mess that he is in himself as always let everything of a double life. Do you think that there was in him the wholly good element that he might have release instead of evil Hyde?

Jekyll created Hyde with the distinct purpose of giving himself the ability to do what he inherently believed was wrong without the repurcussions. Whether you look at this as an example of good versus evil or morality versus immorality, Jekyll's intent was to free himself from responsibilty....... so, the main question would be, do you believe this experiment would be used to free oneself from the responsibility of doing good, and what purpose would that serve?
