Who is the antagonist in So Far from God by Ana Castillo?

There isn't a particular antagonist in the story but exploitation of women is certainly an antagonistic force in the novel. The idea of exploitation runs throughout twentieth- century American literature, and So Far From God is no different. Here the exploitation extends to women at home as well as work.
