One major conflict can be found in Brutha's growing belief that his religion is in direct conflcit with his conscience. When we first meet Brutha, he sees his religion as true and infallible, but the knowledge he gains along the way makes him see that his beliefs are based upon dogma..... not the truth as he's been taught.
