comment on style/language

The story is written in modern English but with many British words and phrases. These are not overwhelming and the American-speaking reader will have no trouble understanding the meanings. The use of the British terms is necessary in order to make the dialogue seem more authentic. For example, Nathan refers to his mother as “mum.”
