The Green Knight is described as having arrived under mysterious circumstances to Camelot. He is very large and tall, and seems to have a wild look to him. His green complection sets him apart from the clean shaven knights that are in the court. He is an enigma because his words and actions don't match. He professes that he's there to be a friend and to join the other knights, but then he turns right around and suggests a 'friendly' game that will surely result in someone's death. He has an unearthly aura about him and later we find out why.
