The Tower represents the last bastion of Avalon and what little is left of the Goddess’ influence. Like the rest of Avalon, the tower is starting to crumble. The Mother tree is decaying, revealing how her power and influence is slowly slipping away. The survivors in the tower try to maintain hope by keeping everything as normal as possible. The massacre, however, destroys the last of the Goddess’ influence, causing a significant crisis of faith in the surviving characters that relied on her for hope.
