What does the Darkling reveal about himself to Alina in Chapter Five?

The Darkling tells Alina that he is one hundred-twenty years old. He also explains that he is a rare Darkling, because of his living amplifier, and that when he uses his power, it makes him stronger. The Darkling also tells Alina that his great-great-great grandfather was the Black Heretic, the man responsible for the Shadow Fold, which was a mistake of greed and lust for power. As a result, he wants to make things right, especially because time is running out.
