In Chapter Thirteen, Alina allows her power to flow freely, and as a result, she is healthier and happier. She also makes slow but steady progress with Baghra, although she continues to hate her lessons. Botkin, her fighting instructor, notices her imrpovements and gives her a steel Grisha knife.
