At the end of Chapter Three, Alina is imprisoned by the Darkling. How do we know that she is not in danger?

We know that Alina is not in danger because the Darkling reprimends the guard that treats her roughly. He cautions the guard, telling him that Alina is Grisha now..... she is one of them.
