Rose is worried about Lissa's mental health because her particular element, spirit, leaves her drained and mentally unstable when she uses it. The psychic link that Rose has with Lissa allows Lissa to successfully ground herself with Rose's help. Without Rose, though, Lissa will slowly descend into depression and could end up killing herself or something equally as distructive.
