What is the author's tone in Selected Political Speeches of Cicero by Marcus Tullius Cicero?

In a sense, there is a consistent tone throughout the book. At times, Cicero is accusatory and at others he praises, but in general there is a tone of seriousness, invective, inspiration and drama. Cicero always speaks with passion.
