Importance of Miss Fleck

Miss Fleck is a third-grade teacher who appears in a variety of stories. She is described as being very particular, particularly in her speech, and demanding that others follow the rules. In Virgil’s story, she confronts Virgil’s father because she thinks that he has hogged too much of the garden. Miss Fleck also appears in Maricela’s story. Maricela describes how Miss Fleck catches a person throwing trash out of an apartment window, so Miss Fleck goes and yells at the man.
