Daisy’s poems symbolize her independence from her parents. Many of her poems appear to be inspired by brief, passionate love affairs that she has had in recent affairs. This fact makes Henry somewhat uncomfortable, but he respects Daisy’s independence and privacy. However, he still sometimes worries about her, as he understandably hopes the best for her.
