Born in Bobrov, Peter Suvorin, goes onto run the family factory in Russka. He later becomes a follower of Popov and leaves Russka. Peter studies in Moscow and becomes a Marxist. He also becomes a professor. Over the course of the story, he marries Rosa Abramovich, and they have a son named Dimitri.
