Why does Lady Capulet visit with Juliet?

She visits with her daughter on several occasions. Since you've not given a scene or act number, I'll assume that it is when her mother visits her to tell her about Paris and that he's been invited to the party. She asks Juliet to at least look at him and see if he 'pleases' her. Juliet agrees to see if she thinks she 'could' fall in love with him.
