what is the importance of Paris and Juliet's parents? and what part do they play in the final tragedy of 'Romeo and Juliet'?

Paris and Juliet's parents are important because they pushed the two young people together, causing indirectly Juliet's downfall. If Juliet had the option to choose who she wanted like Romeo, she wouldn't have gone to extremes to meet with him and commit suicide.
