How do the events of act 1 scene 5 contribute to the final tragedy of the "star crossed lovers" ?

In act 1 scene 5, this is the first time that Romeo meets Juliet, and if they would not have met at this point, this meeting pushes them towards their demise, as a part of the final tradegy of the star crossed lovers
