This is only a short answer space but I can give you a general response. Jockl tries to lead the kids to the engine room without being seen but one of the singing soldiers, Schiendick, stops them. Jockl says that they have the captain’s permission to be below deck; Schiendick calls the children “Jewish rats” but lets them pass anyway.
