Major Chapeyev is the Russian fighter who crashes into the sea while shooting at in another pilot who had fired on the Russians at the Iceland air base. Chapeyev ends up in the ocean near the American he shot down. He immediately claims the American as his prisoner. Chapeyev later reveals that the Russians went to war over oil.
