The expostion takes place in the novel's opening pages, where we are introduced to narrator, Hazel (Squeaky) and Raymond (her brother). In the expostion we learn about Raymond's difficulties.... his special needs, and the way others treat him. We also learn that Squeaky looks out for her brother, and that Raymond adores his sister, who has a mind of her own..... Squeaky also loves to runs.
