The introduction of Foster, a rough outdoors man, brings the environment front and center as an issue. The subject was first mildly broached by the character Carol Brightling. Since the subject of the environment is launched with a new, rather vile character, it may foreshadow a negative angle to an otherwise innocuous subject matter.
