Why did Sapphire chose to end the story the way she did in "PUSH"? What do you think her future looks like?

Sapphire's writing is raw, gritty, and truthful in many ways. The fact that she ends it as she does, stays true to the themes of survival in the story, as well as the harsh realities of life. It also shows the resilence of the human spirit to rise above circumstances and be true to one's own inner self.
