Big Joe from Private Peaceful is the oldest brother, but the simplest. Due to an early childhood bout of meningitis he's been left simpleminded. He helps out in a limited capacity, but cannot be looked to for decisions or leadership. He likes to catch and keep 'critters' which he keeps in boxes out back. When Grandma Wolf moves in, she kills all of them.
