What are some conflict of Pollyanna and Mr. John Pendleton?

In the beginning, Mr. Pendleton doesn't want to be bothered by Pollyanna because he seems to like being alone. Over the course of the novel, however, he comes to enjoy Pollyanna's company, and he even wants her to move in. Pollyanna's refusal upsets him, as he cannot understand why she would rather stay with her aunt.
