Pattern Recognition by William Gibson is a fictional tale told entirely in the first person through the eyes of the main character, Cayce Pollard. The limited point of view is almost a necessity in this story since the details are so involved. To have another perspective would likely make the story too confusing to follow. As it is, Gibson manages to reliably relate the details of this intricate and complex story entirely through Cayce's eyes. The basis of this story is the search for the source of a series of mysterious postings on the internet.
