Lend from Paranormalcy is Evie's love interest in this novel. He is part water elemental and hides his true identity. What interests him about Evie is that she can see through the disguises that he puts on and is able to see the true him. In the past there's been no one that he could get close to because he wasn't human. With Evie he has a chance at having a real realtionship. They meet when Lend breaks into the IPCA trying to find information on the killer.
