Who is Antony from Plutarch's Lives, Volume 2 and what is their importance?

Antony was a Roman statesman. He rose to power after Caesar's death and ruled in a second triumvirate with Octavian and Lepidus. Antony left Rome to live with Cleopatra in Egypt, where fought for her against Rome. He committed took his own life in Alexandria, after falsely being told that Cleopatra was dead.
