Our Town

What are some important themes for the literary work, "Our Town" by Thornton Wilder?

A example for a theme would be "The Stages of Life" because throught the play Wilder tells us that people were made to be born, live, and die.

Within that theme is also the theme of the need for companionship during the middle stage of life. Another theme is the speed at which time passes us as we live out our lives. The stage manager often mentions how time has flown by for the characters. His watch is a very prominent symbol with his character - he is the keeper of the time, yet even he misjudges how fast time flies at one point.
