Not sure if this refers to the relationship between Emilia and Desdemona, or Othello and Cassio. In the former, Emilia is the lady in waiting for Desdemona and as such they are close....sharing secrets...trusting one another. In the latter, the relationship is clear: Othello places personal reputation above relationships, above love.
