Who is Avril Hannson Icove from Origin in Death and what is their importance?

Avril can easily be described as outrageously beautiful, but that is no surprise. Her voice is rich and lovely like the rest of her. She was born to be perfect in every way. Avril became the legal ward of Wilfred Icove Sr. when her mother is killed and her father vanishes shortly after Avril is born. Her father is later killed by a jealous husband, leaving her with no family other than Wilfred. She is raised in the Brookhollow Academy and College. Her instruction, as with the others, is vigorous and intense. She is expected to excel. When she reaches the pinnacle of her education, Icove Sr. gives her to his son to be his wife. Other versions of her continue to grow up, and excel under the unrelenting tutelage of those at the Academy and the College.

Avril is a talented artist like her natural father was, creating portraits of family that hang on their walls. She enjoys crime dramas.

Avril gives her husband two children, Lissy and Ben, who both take after her. Knowing all about the experiments that her husband and her guardian are doing, she asks them for one consideration. She asks that her children not be cloned and that they be left to grow up as they are. When her husband breaks this promise, she contacts her 'sister' from the Academy, Deena, who comes to her aid. It is clear that in order to stop them from using their children and turning them into the same kind of multiple identity as she is, Icove Senior and Junior will have to be eliminated, as will their partner at the Academy, Dr. Jonah Wilson.
