Frederick II was the King of Prussia from 1740 to 1786, he is now known as Frederick the Great. Frederick reorganized Prussian society to create modern bureaucratic and military institutions that continue to have their influences in the present day. Frederick was a major influence on Clausewitz, and his victories and mistakes are analyzed more than anyone but Napoleon.
