What is the major conflict in Of Mice and Men?

Man versus self. You see this a lot with George and Lennie. George feels responsible for Lennie, but it is Lennie that holds him back. George would most likely have accomplished and achieved his goals, but having to care for Lennie has kept him from it. The other conflict would be man vs man (pick a character...they are all against one another).
