Sally Athelny from Of Human Bondage is Thorne Athelny's oldest daughter. She falls in love with Philip and they end up becoming involved. At one point she believes that she's pregnant, but when it is determined that it is a false alarm Philip insists that they still get married. It is evident that it is a fairly one sided relationship as the depth of her feelings is greater than Philip's. He cares for her a great deal, but does not love her.
