What is the theme in Of Beetles and Angels: A Boy's Remarkable Journey from a Refugee Camp to Harvard by Mawi Asgedom?

Another big theme in this book is family bonding. Mawi's father had to leave his home for his own safety and the safety of his family. He missed them, and sent for them. They made a long, hard journey across the desert to get back to him so they could all be together once again in Sudan. Even though the family had the opportunity to go to the United States, they decided to push off their journey for another year so that a family member could join them.
