How does Michelle Cliff use imagery in No Telephone to Heaven?

Language is one of the most interesting aspects of the book. This is most vividly evident in Chapter 7, "Magnanimous Warrior" which is, in many ways, a prose poem, an almost stream of consciousness succession of intense imagery that explores the seemingly almost limitless aspects of (Jamaican? archetypal?) womanhood.
