1984 and today. Are there similarities?

1984 has resurfaced as a best-selling novel in recent years. This is largely attributed to the prophetic-like concepts that seem especially relevant in the world today. Terms like "Big-Brother", "fake news", "hyper-nationalism", "doublethink" are just some of the phrases that are poignant in societies today. In the age of social media, it is often challenging to figure out what is real and what isn't real. At what point does "fake news" become real news? Is your internet browser watching you? These concepts can be directly related to Orwell’s seminal 1984.
