In Chapter Four, researcher, Henry Kendall, remembers a strange phone call he received a few weeks before. Checking the time line on some research he conducted at the NIH labs in Bethesda, Kendall is concerned, but the reader is not quite sure why. The reader is left wondering what is going on with Kendall, and how it will affect the rest of the novel, foreshadowing future chapters.
