Jacob Black from New Moon is the son of Billy Black. Both of them are a part of the Quileute tribe in Washington. The legend of their people say that when the Cold Ones come around, men of the village become guardians of the human race. In other words, they become werewolves. When Jacob becomes a member of the wolf pack he believes that he needs to stay clear of Bella to keep the secret, but he finds this harder to do, especially with Edward out of the picture. The crush that he had on Bella has developed into something more.
