Much of the imagery is of the Canadian Northwest Territories. The terrain is rugged and beautiful. The imagery of the wolves and nature are almost like tableaus that must be experienced with patience and a sense of discovery. Mowat doesn’t just rely on beautiful scenery. He also gives us images of animals and their biological functions.
