Neuromancer

Neuromancer by William Gibson. Consider how notions of Americanness manifest themselves in the style and/or content of the novel.

Hello to everyone, I am an English lit student, and was given to write an essay on William Gibson's novel "Neuromancer". As my mother tongue is not English, and I am not acquanted with sci-fi genre, I have no idea yet what to write about, I'll be glad to hear from you helpful suggestions/points/outline that might progress my writing. I am REALLY lost and need your help. Thanks, Daniel.

The full essay question:

Science fiction has been deemed a uniquely American genre. Through close analysis of one of the texts we have studied on the course, consider how notions of Americanness manifest themselves in the style and/or content of the novel. You may pay particular attention to the notion of the American hero, how is s/he identified? What role does s/he play in society? How does this text challenge or perpetuate this role?
