Nadja is a semi-autobiographical novel, told through the point of view of the author, Andre Breton. Breton writes in a first-person narrative, allowing him to speak more directly to the reader and also relate his personal experiences and feelings in response to the things he sees. By using a first-person narrator, Breton is not only the author, but also a character in his own novel and therefore, he can directly guide the flow and action.
