How does the author use foreshadowing in the novel, My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry?

One example of foreshadowing can be found in the opening lince of Chapter Thirty, which reads, “Only one person collapses with a heart attack late on Christmas Eve. But, two hearts are broken, and the house is never quite the same again.”
