Morena was Reymundo's best friend in the gang. She is described as having been a prominent, powerful member of the Latin Queens. When Reymundo went on his first hit against the Cobras, he froze with fear. Morena, however, picked up an automatic and started blasting anything that moved. She saved his life.

Over time, Morena became a sort of foster mother for Reymundo. She took care of him and allowed him to sleep in her house when he had nowhere else to stay. Maria served as a stand-in for his mother.
