Fritz Lafontant is a Hatian priest that Farmer met during his early excursions to Haiti. Lafontant was the administrator of a small clinic, which was funded by a church in South Carolina. Through Lafontant's outreach program, Farmer became interested in a heavily impoverished area that would become the site for Zanmi Lasante.
