and got into her stride.‘Well,your mother’s not at home,nor your father, of course.And your
brother…Your father used to get cross about him,but in the end,you know how it is.Anyway,I’m
around,and it’s lucky Iam.The number of times I’ve wondered what one arth would happen to
everything if they hadn’t got me to look after them.Tell me, is it true you’ve failed your
thingummy-bob,what d’you call it,your exams?’
I nodded silently.
