While the book is certainly a serious piece of scholarship marshaling a huge number of statistics and grappling with numerous ideas and cultural phenomenon, it is also unabashedly written in defense of Millenials. In many ways, this stance is merely a corrective to all the negative stories about Millenial youth circulating among the media and politicians, but at times it does seem as though Howe and Strauss are straining the evidence to make their point.
