• The thermometer's temperature is influenced by the temperature of the solid objects to which it is in contact, and radiation exchange with bodies at different temperatures.

• Bulb thermometers do not respond quickly to temperature changes. As a result, sufficient time must be allowed for the instrument to adjust.
