Why does Rosalind run away after being seen at the play she attends in Oxford in the novel, Master Rosalind?

When Dr. Hornsby recognizes her at the performance of the play, she runs away, fleeing into the woods, as performances are offlimits to youths because of the supposedly "scandalous" nature of plays.
