What does it mean to be an adult? Marigolds

For Lizbeth, becoming an adult means learning to take responsibility, as well as becoming aware of the repercussions for her actions. It has to do with learning to draw the line and see the things around her for what they are, for learning how to make things better, learning to empathize.... to see past herself and her own circumstances and to become aware the way things effect others—the way her own actions effect others.
